Elements of a Balanced Wag

My goal is to improve the life of each dog I work with while building confidence in their humans (that's you).

COMMUNICATION

By pairing body language with a uniform vocabulary, you will unlock a deeper connection with your dog and open a world of possibilities.  Dogs are eager to please us. The consistent use of specific words and phrases will build a foundation for great connection through clear communication.

LEADERSHIP

As dog owners, we take on the great responsibility to teach, guide and protect our dogs’ environments every day.  By doing so, we become the compass our dogs follow for direction and purpose, creating an unbreakable bond of trust and respect. Your commitment to this journey is essential to the success of your dog’s training.

PLAY + AFFECTION

When it comes to play and affection, it’s all about timing. Dogs deserve to let off some steam by fetching a toy, digging in the yard, or running “zoomies” in the living room.  Of course, we want to make sure play is safe, fun and constructive. So, based on your dog’s needs, we can customize activities and games to stimulate your dog’s mind and help maintain good energy levels.

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT

Who doesn’t love a reward for a job well done? Humans value consistent and timely recognition by their leaders at work. Guess what? So do dogs. By consistently rewarding and praising your dog’s positive behaviors, you’ll motivate them to continue those behaviors and boost their self-esteem. Your dog probably won’t expect a salary increase for all this good work, but they will certainly expect more praise!

EXCERCISE

Daily exercise is integral to a dog’s physical and mental health, leading to a happier, healthier dog.  Each dog’s level of physical activity and mental stimulation will differ.  Together, we’ll build a structured exercise routine with an intensity level that works for your dog’s (and your) ability.

BALANCE

We want the best out of our dogs. It’s only fair that they expect the same from us. By incorporating consistent human-to-dog communication with strong leadership, encouraging playtime by rewarding with positive reinforcement, and maintaining a healthy exercise routine, your dog will have a balanced energy that will allow them to live their best life.
